In her private law practice, Marcus represents clients in a wide range of legal matters with a particular focus on the myriad practice issues confronting non-physician health care practitioners, the educational rights of special needs young people, and small business issues.

Marcus was Politics Editor at Mothering magazine until it ceased publication in April of 2011. She has appeared on media outlets as diverse as National Public Radio and Fox and has served as consultant to several state legislatures on effective drafting of laws protecting the rights of mothers and their children.
